Theodore Roosevelt Summer Fellows
Earn a
$1,200
scholarship while enjoying academic integration, human formation, and a bit of adventure – alongside faculty and friends.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Students who enjoy discussing how study at a university allows one to achieve happiness, freedom, and discover meaning and purpose in life.
Any student who would like to fully immerse themselves in their courses and the activities below. (We are looking for enthusiasm and commitment.)
HIGHLIGHTS
Seminar focusing on questions on human existence, relationships, meaning, purpose, and vocation.
Special access to visiting scholars
Camping in the Badlands
Visits to North Dakota Heritage Sites
Cultural excursion to a major North American City
Students who successfully complete the Theodore Roosevelt Summer Fellows Program earn a $1,200 scholarship for their subsequent semester of study at Mary.
REQUIREMENTS
Enroll in a minimum of 12 credits for the Summer Semester
Enroll in HUM 130: Theodore Fellows Seminar (meets Wednesdays from 4:00-6:30pm)
Live on campus for the Summer Semester
Commit to full participation in all Fellows Activates
First-Year TR Fellows are required to attend the Badlands Camping Trip and the excursion to Chicago. These trips are optional for Second-Year TR Fellows.
FOR WHAT SUMMER COURSES SHOULD I REGISTER?
HUM 130: YRC Seminar (1 credit)
POL 101: Responsible Citizenship (if not yet taken)
At least 12 credits in total (which ought to be evenly distributed, more or less, between Blocks A and B)

Roosevelt Summer Fellows enjoy many benefits, including a seminar focusing on human formation and integration, special access to visiting scholars, a weekend of camping in the Badlands, visits to North Dakota heritage sites, and a cultural excursion to a major North American city.
